Do you have a Dopod?
|
 |
|
the best and most important feature
|
|
 |
|
the real reason to get a PDA phone:)
|
|
|
Why did I wait so long?
I finally own a PDA phone in the form of the black Dopod 818 pro. I received from wife-y dearest about 3 weeks ago. It has been a long wait since I set my eyes on the O2 mini.
It is really sleek (judge it for yourself) and I really love it to bits. It?s wi-fi enabled, 2 MEGAPIZEL (big deal hahah) camera, and has is great powerful information manager (PIM).
PIM is really important with my daily appointment running up to 6 a day and my weekend calendar with only 3 dates left, this is really God sent!
The Multimedia player is also great, apart from PDFs I now store my favorite interviews in the Dopod as well.
As much as I love it, it can never match up to the giver wife-y dearest Shirlyn!
Cheers!

19 Hours in Batu Pahat
|
|
I was in Batu Pahat over last Sunday for the wedding shoot of Syed Najmee & Izian. The drive there was otherwise smooth if not for some GENIUS who picked a long-weekend to repair the road. Senior photographer Jeff and I driving within SPEED LIMIT, reached Batu Pahat in 4 hours (normally 3.5max). Later we found out some guests took 8 hours to arrive (HORROR!!!).
the pensive bride
Many thanks to the bride & groom who has made sure that all our comfort was met by putting us up at the first (if not only) 4 star hotel The Katerina ?In Batu Pahat The hotel looks really good especially all the functions/ballroom (which share the same name with the Mandarin Oriental KL ballroom). However the hotel has a few kiasu/cost cutting practices like having nice chandelier but not turning it on?????
this is NOT Halim!!!
Apart from the great images that we came back with and the great hospitality of the bride/grooms? family , the the BIGGEST reward for us both was the HALIM Cendol. In my opinion, I NEVER had a better CENDOL in my life!!!!
I am definitely looking forward to returning to Batu Pahat this December for the wedding of Suresh and Sharon!
Cheers!

Singapore's Sojourn
|
|
Dear All,
Had a great trip in Singapore. As usual a trip to Cathay burn a hole in the pocket (shhh....dont let Shirlyn know), and thank goodness wife-y has the wisdom asking me not to bring my credit cards.
I also had an interesting incident. While taking a cab to in Singapore heading back to Ritz-Carlton , the cabby -Mr. Joe , asked if i was a photographer? Thinking that my Cathay bags was a dead giveaway, I replied YES.
Then he asked if I was a Malaysian, of course I said yes and a very PROUD one at that! Then to my amazement, he asked "Are you Mr. Kid Chan?"whhhhaatt??????
It seems that, Joe has been following my works since my Pesona Pengatin column days. What an Ego-booster ...hahhahaha But still no discount for my Taxi fare:(
A special thanks to wife-y's best buddy Ms. Jodie for bring me to Tony Rama's for their excellent ribs {Non-Halal) , My college buddy Shung who has a good intention of bringing me to Equinox but was not open and Yann Yann who later met up with us in Boat Quay.
I met Yann few years ago when she was a talent in the Brand Power commercial and I was the intern at Studio88. Yann, born in Malaysia was handpicked by Singapore's legendary theater directer Kuo Pao Kun to form his pioneer batch of his fledging Theater Training and Research programme. Yann was also part of the Separation 40 cast who are nominated for BEST GROUP PERFORMANCE (theatre)in the 4th Annual BOH Cameronian Arts Awards 2005.
I also take this opportunity to wish Yann all the best with her theater opening tonight and her upcoming movie - Singapore Dreaming's Gala premier.
Ok. Got to sleep early tonight. Tomorrow a big shoot for my secondary schoolmate Ikhwan and his lovely Bride Amli at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).
See ya!
Btw, stay tune bcost i am going to let you in on my RIDE this weekend tomorrow!
Cheers!

A Chat with Kid Chan of kidchan studio
|
|
A Chat with Kid Chan of kidchan studio
(Interview taken from weddingsmalaysia.com)
When did you first get into the wedding photography business?
5 years ago after almost getting burnt out doing corporate work.
Why weddings?
Believe it or not, it was by accident. We were not particularly interested in this segment of the market initially but after having shot a few "obligatory" weddings, we fell in love with it.
How have you seen the industry evolve over the past few years?
When we first started shooting weddings, the main concern most couples had was "Do we need such a professional photographer for our wedding day?" but now, it is more like "I really deserve the best with what I can afford, who should I go to?"
What are some of the current trends in wedding photography?
The preferred style is photojournalistic for the actual wedding day, with studio shots still being pretty popular prior to the wedding.
You are known for being a photographer to the 'rich and famous' in Malaysia. Can 'ordinary folks' afford your services?
I know it may seem that way with our very high profile wedding portfolio. Despite having clients such as Paula Malai Ali , Jeslina Hashim , YM Tunku Myra Madihah and Shaleen Cheah for instance, our rates remain very affordable. I would very much like to urge those interested in our services to just drop by our studio to have a chat, no obligations! Our packages are definitely competitive with others in the market.
Tell us a little about your new studio.
www.kidchanstudio.com @ Bangsaria is a 2000 sq feet facility that concentrates on 'Lifestyle' photography. Our more popular services include Pre-Wedding, Family, Pregnancy & Babies photography packages.
Cheers!
